Thousands in Michigan Without Power After Midwest Storms

Severe thunderstorms in northwest Ohio and southern Michigan knocked out power for hundreds of thousands of customers throughout the region. The impact of the storm system extended south into Arkansas, where heavy rainfall and flash flooding swept through the northern part of the state, said Joe Sellers, a meteorologist with the National Weather Service. Power was restored through some areas a couple of hours later, after the storm knocked out electricity to more than 600,000.
